The Wheel of Time has been written by Robert Jordan and startet with the first novel The Eye of the World. In Nov. 2000 the 9th part called Winter's Heart was published. This is the sole point of criticism you can have with Jordan's work: there seems to be no end. But the characters are intricately carved and the story is excellently told and will grap you in an instant, if you start reading the series.
